Z7_O9G21441L868A061KU621G10C3 Oregon WildfireAmerican National uses a vendor-generated Wildfire Risk Score to assess the wildfire risk for the properties they insure. This score ranges from 0 to 100, where 0 signifies no wildfire risk and 100 represents the highest possible risk.
The Wildfire Risk Score is influenced by several factors, including slope, aspect, vegetation density and composition, residential density, five-year drought and wind history, and proximity to wildland and high-risk areas.
During the underwriting review period, Wildfire Scores are used to determine coverage eligibility for all new business, policy rewrites, and location changes. Properties with Wildfire Scores above the eligible threshold are deemed ineligible for coverage with American National.
Wildfire Scores also play a role in policy rating. For details about wildfire eligibility and mitigation actions that can reduce your Wildfire Score, please contact your American National agent.
